Zweigelt is a  Hybrid varietal developed in 1922 by Austrian Fritz Zweigelt. It is a crossing of two vitis viniferas; Blaufränkisch and St. Laurant, and is now the most widely-grown red grape variety in Austria. It’s a medium bodied red with a real brightness, beaming with tart cherry flavors and a refreshing acidity. This varietal is unlike any other red we have offered, and will be a great addition for your last day of summer picnic.
